Work With Us

volunteer runner

Growing Abundance is looking for new people to join our team.

This is a great opportunity to be a part of a not-for-profit community organisation involved in creating abundant, local food systems.

Also, it’s a fabulous way for newcomers to our shire to connect with local people and networks doing important, inspiring work in our region.

Interested in being part of the Growing Abundance Project Working Group?

We’re looking for folks with a passion for local food, resource-sharing and community-building to help support and guide Growing Abundance as we move into a new and exciting chapter.

Whether you’ve been part of our story from the beginning or you’re just keen to contribute and learn about how a grassroots project like this runs, we’d love to have you involved.

The Growing Abundance Working Group will support the sustainability and strategic direction of the project through:

  • Providing support to the Growing Abundance Project Officer to plan and deliver our Harvest program.
  • Seasonal community event programming and delivery
  • Inspiring the work we do by providing strategic guidance and support
  • Researching funding opportunities and writing grant applications
  • Meeting monthly to track project progress, to ensure we are achieving our goals and explore future directions

We are seeking folk who:

  • Are passionate about local food systems and grassroots climate action
  • Can commit 2-4 hours per month to attend an in-person Working Group meeting at Castlemaine Community House and participate in seasonally-relevant events or tasks.
  • Want to bring their knowledge, skills and energy to Growing Abundance to help the project continue to thrive and evolve.

Desirable:

  • Experience or interest in gardening or food growing
  • Love networking and building relationships with related groups/organisations
  • Experience/involvement with Growing Abundance or similar projects (not essential)
  • Open to collaborative approaches and working with others on community projects

Also looking for those who may bring skills in:

  • Administration
  • Bookkeeping
  • Grant writing
  • Communications and Marketing

*As a Growing Abundance Working Group member you will be a Castlemaine Community House volunteer which will require a current Working with Children check and Police Check. CCH will reimburse any costs associated with these if you are appointed onto the Working Group.

Please get in touch via growingabundance@cch.org.au

With Thanks, The Growing Abundance Team
